GS Retail and KPC held a business agreement ceremony on January 15, 2020 to develop new affiliated products and activate gift card platform.” Through this MOU contract, the government will cooperate in expanding payment platform through prepaid cards such as adding new payment process for POSA cards through system improvement, developing new affiliated prepaid cards, improving public relations to improve customer awareness.

Since 2014, when GS25 introduced prepaid cards at a convenience store operated by GS Retail, the annual average growth rate of prepaid card sales has continued to grow up to 80%. POSA card, which is sold by GS25, has developed a prepaid card as an innovative service that can be purchased the same as regular products in stores from current existing Securities.
The fact that the customers can choose a brand that suits their taste in the store and charge the desired amount increase their satisfaction, and the overall market is rapidly growing from 200 million won in 2012 to 200 billion won in 2019 through continuous development of new partnership. GS25 accounts for a large portion of POSA card sellers and that portion has increased up to 14% in 2019 compared to the previous year.

POSA cards stands for Point of Sales Activated, and unlike card-type gift cards such as paper-type gift cards or banks, it is an anonymous prepaid gift card that can be used by the brand in real time when customers select and pay for various gift cards. The representative product is Google Card.
Seasonal tickets at GS25 based on
Pohang, Gyeongju, and Yeongcheon.
GS25 in Pohang, Gyeongju and Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang province have been selling FC POHANG STEEELERS’s soccer season ticket as physical POSA cards to support the Pohang region’s games and K-League expansion in January 2020. As an event, all customers who purchased season tickets at GS25 convenience stores get provided with POP CARD point 15,000 WON and three first-come, first-served buyers get provided with 3D puzzles to mark the “30th anniversary of Steel Yard”.
